Wedding Time!

Hello, everyone! As always, I hope you all are feeling well, and that everything is going well for you all in this week!

Not much really happened this week, but today we have the wedding of Geovani Gonzabay and Isaura Correa, and on Wednesday they are going to be baptised! They are very excited and I am super happy to be a part of this!!! Their testimonies of the Gospel have grown so much, and they know this church is true and they want to follow in it always! It's like the prophet Nephi said in 2 Nephi 31:20.

I don't have much time to write but I'm so very thakful to have you all here supporting me! I hope I have more time to write next week! I love you all, and hope to hear from you all about how you're all doing soon! Thanks for your messages! Chao!

Love, Hermana Johnson

Milagros en Milagro

Hey everyone! I love you all and thank you for all your prayers on my behalf! I'm praying for all of you, too, and I hope everything is well on your end! Basically, here in Milagro, we have been having AMAZING weeks, and we have had members walking with us almost every day, strengthening their testimonies and sharing the truth! Milagro means miracle in English, and we've basically been having miracles in Miracle! One day, it was SUPER hot, and the power went out at like, 5am. So, we were suffering in our personal and companionship studies and just in the house, because we live on the third floor, in the hottest apartment. So we studied and everything, and it was time to close with a prayer, and it was my turn to say it. So we got down on our knees, and I told Heavenly Father that it was very hot, and that we would like to have our fans working, and that we would also like to recharge our music boxes so we could listen to that as we finished getting ready for the day, if He saw it fit, please.

Challenges and Celebrations

Hello all!!!! This week has been a rough one, but we're still going strong! Basically, we were all super duper pumped because one of our investigators, Angelo, hadn't drunk alcohol for 19 days, and was super ready to get baptized on the 24th of April, and very happy about it too, because baptism is basically the ticket to entering into the kingdom of God, and it is an ordinance that ONLY counts if it is in the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints, because the true power of God, the priesthood was restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith Jr. and no other church has the authority nor the power to allow people to return back to our Heavenly Father's presence. But, as said in the Bible, "...the drunken... will not be heirs to the kindom of God." It is said in both Galations and Corinthians, I have to find the scriptures again. B

Angry Bird Pet

Hello everyone!!! I love you all and I'm missing you here in Ecuador and hope everything's good on your end of the line!!! Basically, I was laying in my bed last night, almost asleep and very nice and happy when our ringtone, which is like a really strong metal techno beat, woke me from my almost-happy slumber. Thankfully, it wasn't a call for me, but for Hermana Mamani.

Milagro - Setting Goals

Hola everyone, this is Hermana Johnson reporting live from Milagro, Guayas, Ecuador! Basically, hello and I'm sorry I haven't really written anything in like two weeks concerning what's going on around here. Getting on to that right now, keep reading. So, about two weeks ago, I was just about sleeping when the zone leaders called our phone in Duran at like 11:30-12:00 in the night, to tell me I had transfers. Usually they call everyone at around this hour for transfers, but I wasn't really expecting it, so it was a bit disappointing for me. But they changed me to Milagro, where I am now serving with Hermana Mamani from Bolivia.

Answering Sarah's Questions

Hello, Sarah! Hello everyone! 1) The ward we attend is about 400 people big, but only about 150 assist every Sunday, sometimes less. We're working on that, and I'm very excited to bring everyone back! 2) Oh man, the favorite person I've taught... This really isn't a question that any person can answer really! I love all the people I've taught, here and gone. I miss the ones in Samanes 1, but everyone here is so nice, they are all amazing people with different challenges and different quirks and personalities. Right now we're teaching to Bryan still and Romina, but Bryan more.

New companion

I have a few minutes left and I just lost my favorite companion and one of my best friends ever so I'm sad.

Dreams Come True in Ecuador

The winter season brings the rain, and with the rain comes the 100 degree weather and humidity. But after 6 months here in Ecuador, I'm used to it. We have recently been teaching a young girl named Ericka the gospel, and she has a little dog that looks just like Kona! Ericka is very sweet, and is 17 and pregnant. Latin culture is very strange in comparison with ours, the father is 36. Basically, this is a thing that happens a lot. But she's very awesome, and knows everyone in the neighborhood! But the most awesome thing is that she had a dream right before meeting us: She had been eating in her house and there came a knock at the door. She went to go and open it, and saw two elders (the Latins called both the girl missionaries and the guy ones "elders"). She told them that she was catholic and closed the door, but turned around and saw the elders open the window and ask her, " Why are you putting yourself farther away from God?" She woke up and was really worried the whole next two days, wondering what she had to do to bring herself closer to Heavenly Father, and then Hna Purnell and I came by with our friend Marlon, who had felt that he should take us over to meet her. She told us that we were exactly like her dream, and whoop now we're teaching her! It is so awesome! Love, Hermana Avalon Rae Johnson
